How to Improve Visbility on Google

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

One of the common questions my staff and I got asked frequently regarding appearing on top rankings in Google is this: “How do I make myself visible through Google?” or “Why is my competitor’s site on the 1st page and mine is not?”

If you do not know the rules of the search engine game, you will always wonder why your site is not coming up on the 1st page of Google under ALL keywords and at the end, after spending lots of money and time on it with little returns, you might simply just tell yourself that there are NO patients/customers that you could get from the internet.

I just spoke with one of my newer clients, a dentist in Los Angeles, who has played the search engine game for about 10 years now ( even before he became our client).

He is getting 20 new patients from the internet every month! He is getting those results because he knows about the good and bad practices of internet strategies and have gone through them in the last 10 years.

He signed up with our service because he would still like to get even more!

For doctors and business men out there who want to see more patients coming in from the internet, don’t ignore the rules.

Roll up your sleeve and learn about the rules of the game — you will have a higher chance of winning!

Thankfully, many technologies exist to cut down the amount of work you need to do.

Here is a video from Matt Cutts, an engineer from Google on a few criteria which would help Google to position you well:

The 25-Web-Sites Strategy

The 25-Web-Sites Strategy

Is the Equivalent of the Type of
Amplifier Rock Stars are Using to be Heard

and YOU DO WANT TO BE HEARD – Don’t You?

The principle is simple:

Get one lottery ticket and you have one chance to win.

Get 25 lottery tickets and you have 25 times the chance of winning.

Many of you are constantly trying to get 1 or 2 of your web sites to be on the first page of Google and other search engines. Why not have at least 25 sites, and have each one of them come up under different keywords combinations?

And it gets better.

Because if you get 25 web sites instead of one then you not only increase your chance of the grand prize by 25 times but you will have a synergistic and tactical approach to dominating the internet game when it comes to general exposure on the internet.

As the above sentence might indicate there is more – much more — to the fact of having a 25 sites exposure.

Let me point out some of the most important points in the
“getting actual and real business from the web”

The Neglected Job in Business and Healthcare Practice Management

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

dental practice management goals 300x221 The Neglected Job in Business and Healthcare Practice ManagementNote: Dentists, doctors, business owners etc have hired business and practice management consultants to help increase new patients and customers, to be more well-organized and to have improved customer service. However, there is one area of management which most often never get adequate attention:

When I worked as a waiter in Austria, my native country, I worked hard (90 hours a week, for about nine months in a row). An American tourist told me that I was working too hard to ever make money. I replied that I love my job and that I made good money. He smiled, patted me on the shoulder, and said, “I’m happy for you. But I mean real money, lots of money – you can’t make it while working so hard.” 25 years later, I understood what he meant.

Here is a little break-down on an organizational structure:

Goal-Maker – Every organization needs a Goal-Maker (or Dream-Maker) like Kennedy, Gandhi, etc., setting goals such as ‘let’s fly to the moon’ or ‘let’s free the country from those terrible suppressive occupants!’ The Goal-Maker usually does not perform the physical step of an organization. He just ‘dreams stuff up’ so to say! Which does not mean that he is not usually pretty good at performing the two levels below him. It is just that he better devote his time to dream stuff up and create new games for the rest to play. It’s a dirty job but someone has to do it.

Manager – This is the executive who should be putting a team together, making strategic plans. He should not perform the physical work; otherwise he has no time to direct and get the work done, which is his job. Every manager is of course some kind of a goal maker as well. In fact all managers have to be a bit of a goal maker for the areas for which they are responsible.

They need to dream up or set goals so that the division they are handling knows where to go.

But all the goal setting follows the big picture, which was dreamed up by the Big Boss.

The manager puts in place all the mechanics needed to achieve the dream. The manager should not be pulled down to the level of actually doing the work needed such as, seeing patients, phone calls, selling, administrative paperwork etc.

He is there to make sure the horses are constantly in front of the wagon well-aligned and that they are pulling in the right direction. He is not here to do the job, not even handling costumer’s complains is his job (which again does not mean that he probably and ideally is one of the best in all those functions). It is just not his job as a manager if you, the goal-maker and dreamer, wants a growing and profitable company, that is.

Workers–They are the people who actually do the work. Doing dentistry, typing, engineering, architecture, farming, drilling oil etc. all falls under the category of workers.

Maybe you can’t exactly dump all work overnight. Chances are that currently you are the dreamer and the manager and the worker. This probably results in many of your ideas, which look terrific in the evening, and not so doable in the morning when you get hit with management questions on the spot while being in the middle of a job which should be reserved for a worker.

Did that ever happen to you?

But for the business owner, who is usually also the goal-maker, you must work the hardest on becoming that goal-maker only.

Make plans towards becoming a goal-maker, force yourself to have the time set aside to manage them so that in the end all you do is set the goals which will get planned by the management team and done by the employees.

Think how far you could get!!

First, you need to make time to be a manager and then a goal-maker only – just do it!

Managing and goal-making happens to be better paid than doing heart surgery or any other “work”!!

That is because goal-makers and managers can ‘duplicate’ themselves. They can have ‘extensions’ of themselves (other workers) performing the legwork associated with their plans, according to their wishes.

A heart surgeon or any worker cannot duplicate himself – he is the only one that has to be there to do that legwork — and thus he will always make money only when he works, and will hardly ever have time to venture into other businesses or hobbies.

Setting your practice up so that you can become a ‘hands-free’ owner is the only way to make lots of money without working more hours.

The most neglected job of all small business owners is the job of a ‘goal-maker’.

Becoming A Hands-Free Business Owner – The Way Out Of Being Overworked and Underpaid

Monday, March 8th, 2010

Though most of us love what we do in our profession, and many people do put in 60 to 70 hours a week working hard at our profession, most of us would also not mind enjoying the freedom to take off whenever we like to pursue other interests in life.

Small businesses stay small because the small business owner thinks that his or her presence is constantly needed to produce business income.

He or she is right to a high degree. After all, the business owner is usually also the more competent sales person, the producer, the smoother customer service person, the stricter quality control person, etc.

Well, ‘someone’ needs to do the dirty work of making money and so many business owners decide that they shall slave, — I mean, work —  hard for the business until they retire.

Below are two videos which I have made on why some people feel that they are overworked and underpaid.

Watch the videos if you also would like more free time and to make more money without spending more hours at your work! icon smile Becoming A Hands Free Business Owner – The Way Out Of Being Overworked and Underpaid

How to Use Blue Tooth Marketing for your Health Care Practice or any Other Small Business which Operates in a Local Market

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

First you might want to know what blue tooth marketing actually is and how it works in principle on a technical level.

These days about 85 percent of all phones are blue tooth enabled. This does not mean that the user is actually using the blue tooth, but it means that the phone has the capability to be paired with a blue tooth. In short it can receive the signal.

A new device is now available on the market called “Instant Text Ping” which will signal all Bluetooth enabled phones in a particular area.

This device will send a message without needing the phone number to any blue tooth enabled phone in an approximate range of 100 ft, which the receiver can accept or decline.

If the prospect declines he will never be bothered by us (you) again.

If he accepts, then well he is interested in your offer and the possibilities are almost endless.

  • By the way you do NOT pay for sending a message and the receiver does NOT pay anything either.
  • You do NOT even need a normal cell phone signal as your message does not use any phone carrier but speaks directly to the phone.
  • You also are NOT stealing the person’s identity such a phone number etc, but only can connect to the phone if it is in YOUR range of broadcasting.
  • It’s a bit like radio where you will receive only when you are in range. The only big difference is that in our case the person can actually respond IF he or she is interested.

ALL YOU NEED IS TO BE IN 100 FT VICINITY OF PEOPLE WHO COULD /SHOULD USE YOUR SERVICE. CROWDS SUCH AS YOU WILL SEE IN SHOPPING CENTERS, FARMER’S MARKETS, STRIP MALLS, MOVIE THEATERS, SPORTS EVENTS, IN FRONT OF YOUR OFFICE, IN YOUR OFFICE, CHURCHES - IN SHORT ANY PLACE WHERE THERE ARE LOTS OF PEOPLE IN THE GEOGRAPHIC AREA FROM WHERE YOU DRAW BUSINESS FROM(usually 10 miles for most businesses).

The big companies by the way ARE using it – BMW, Audi, Virgin Media, Miller beer and even the army uses it for recruiting new people and police departments use this technology to chase down criminals.

Here are two, but extremely important reasons of why this method is so wonderful and effective:

  • You will be able to contact a highly target market in super large quantities.
  • The sending of message is literally free except the price of the device which is very affordable and probably will come back within a week if not a few weeks.

Here are some examples which should trigger dozens and dozens of ideas in your mind for your product or service in your area as well as fitting your personality.

  • Targeted audience can be reached because the prospect happens to be in your area. Whether you are a restaurant owner, a car mechanic, a dentist, a gas station owner etc, we are talking about YOU capturing the prospects that happen to be walking by your place of business or even already in your business.

You may not want to rely on your staff to ‘remember’ to tell customers a certain message. But if you have Instant Text Ping, any and all customers that walk into your office, or walk by your store front, will get a ‘ping’ on their cell phones and thus your messages can be delivered literally 7 days a week, 24 hours a day – beyond your office hours!

  • Targeted could also be because you place this device exactly in public places where your prospects are. For instance, if I wish to market to dentists for my marketing consulting services, I could have any “not-so-bright high school dropout” standing at or near the entrance of any and all dental association meetings and conventions around the country and the Instant Text Ping device would contact all of them with a very specific message. I would not spend a single cent in advertising!
  • What about the flea market or the farmer’s market in the close vicinity? Lot’s of people and you could reach hundreds and even thousands of people for literally no cost. You can custom design the message such as the case of a farmer’s market where people are somewhat health conscious and would be impressed with a message which states:
“Message From Northridge Farmer’s Market: Eating healthy food is super important of keeping a health body but also for healthy teeth. Did you know that a bad diet can cause a lowered immune system and thus increase the risk of gum diseases? Get a $39 cleaning, X-ray and exam (reg. $ 215) to be sure to keep any potential gum disease away from you! Go to web site www.XYZ.com”
  • Can you imagine doing something like that in front of about 3 – 5 churches every Sunday and some times during the week, as there will be different parishioners? What do you think if you advertise your community involvement programs and/or your specials at those churches? Church members love to help, and they surely are not all poor as some might want to suggest.
  • What about reaching high end prospects? Go to the high end shopping-mall in front of the jewelry store or the nearby Mercedes dealer. What about where the high end gyms or restaurants are in your area?
  • Did I mention health fairs? Not that you could not have a booth at many of those fairs, and shows (I would not suggest the expensive restaurant strip though) but having a booth is costly and demands manning it and will not draw the same attention, not even close, as the Instant Text Ping message.
  • Treat or sell stuff for children? What about the places parents hang out, such as the parents’ meetings at schools, the kids’ playgrounds, or the daycare centers? Would the local little league, or any youth sport team such as the martial arts classes do? All you need is be in the vicinity with your device and bingo.J Imagine being at the Laker’s game, and being able to have many people seeing your message for your product and service! It is what I call stealing the show.

By the way normally stadiums are a rather bad place to get phone reception due to too many phones in the place, but as said above you do not need reception. You are your own broadcaster. And what if they don’t let you in with your broadcast device? No problem, you (or the not-so-bright high school dropout that you have hired) can just quietly hang around the exit / entrance, or parking lots and catch them as they come and go.

Just don’t go to a rock and roll club where 18 year olds hang out if you are selling Rolls Royce or Rolex watches. If you sell Rolexes you want to stroll through all the Ritz Carlton’s and Four Season’s of this world and include the seven stars — in Dubai and/or all the exotic car rental and car dealerships, as well as the appropriate shows and conventions and even just drive through Beverly Hills amongst another hundred such cities. It’s really quite simple if you think about it. As said before, your imagination on where and how will be the only limitation.

OK, I hope I have made you understand the unlimited ramification of how the Instant Text Ping can be used.

Did you know that there are police departments in Europe (I got the idea and device from Europe on one of my trips back home) which are using this system to find a perpetrator of a crime minutes after the crime was committed?

Yes and look how it is done.

Murder or burglary happens on Main Street and Fifth Avenue. Police takes a few of those systems and cruises around the area pinging everyone in sight with:

Police alert!! Burglary on Main Street & 5th. Suspects wear blue shirt. Long blond hair, Male 30 – 40 years old, limping. Please contact 911 immediately.

What about this next one?

Lost pet alert! Young German shepherd – dark hair – with almost white paws, goes by the name of Troyan. Does not bite but likes to bark. Was last seen at corner of main street and 5th. Likes to eat old pizza. Please call 818 000 0000 or call 911 thanks – reward is $500.

As Bill Gates, the richest man in the world said in his book of 1996 or so “Business at the speed of thought”, “Speed is power!!” You bet it is. Speed is super important in all of life’s endeavors — be it karate, boxing, fast food, new technologies, new inventions etc.

Alright, I hope this article is informative on using high tech tools to market inexpensively.

Keep in mind, the device is great ( I currently owned one myself and will be ordering another 200 units for my sales reps across the country to sell to local businesses) however, I know that it by itself will not give me all the business in the world to greatly expand my business.

Marketing is synergistic, so never never put all your marketing efforts only on 1 method! Not using other marketing strategies like social media, email marketing, video marketing, PR etc and depending only on 1 device is ‘suicidal’

So even though I am tooting the horn on this technology, it does not mean you should put all your focus on this device and forget about everything else.

This device will help you reach prospects in places where you normally could not – without spending money on flyers and ads. So it is an additional tool for your message to be picked up ‘everywhere’ by prospects.

The retail price goes up to $5000 a piece for the machine. Some of you may need 2 or 3 devices so that you can have the devices operating around the clock at different locations.

We have found a manufacturer who could give us great discounts for bulk order.

I have negotiated a 20% off for our own group order – only $3900.

In addition to owning the machine, leasing options are available too at only $500 a month. (No credit checks. Month to month contract.)

If you would like to get the device, contact your consultants and let them know that you would like to be part of the group purchase discount.

I will be placing the order in the coming week.

The device can and probably will pay for itself in a month or two. (How many patients do you need to pay for $3900 or $500 a month?)

By the way, some large companies are already using these technologies:

llogos How to Use Blue Tooth Marketing for your Health Care Practice or any Other Small Business which Operates in a Local Market

I personally love it! I am in marketing one way or another for about 40 years in 12 countries, four continents and dozens of industries, and let me tell you, I have not seen anything like this!
