The fear of failure, of being cheated, being laughed at etc has, I believe,, kept many wise and great people from achieving their goals in life.
If those souls would actually know, how little failure can hurt them and how meaningless it is what other people think of you, and how beautiful it is to make some progress, no matter how small, towards one’s goals, they would never be afraid again.
The operative word here is “one’s goals.” The real goal – not the cut-down version of your goals – is the version you really do want! After all, why perform some tasks, which you don’t like only to get you something which really don’t satisfy you? Why?
Did you know that Frederick W. Smith the CEO and founder of Fedex was given a C- for his Fedex idea from his critics, I mean, from his professors?
Did you know that the doctor who said the blood circulates was dispelled as a doctor?
Did you know that the doctor who said that doctors should wash their hands before operating on a patients was outcast?
Did you know that the person who said the planet is round was exiled?
Did you know that Bill Gates was told that nobody will ever need a personal computer?
Did you know that vitamins and good nutrition is still criticized and/or downplayed by doctors?
Did you know that just about every famous musicians, painter etc was not at all appreciated and even criticized in his time and only became famous after their deaths?
Did you know that companies like Coca cola, Red Bull, 3M and many, many more had years of failures and big losses?
Have you observed that when the new entrepreneur fails he would get a great job or new money for a new venture almost immediately despite his failures, and ahead of people who never failed but also did never try?
And most of all did you observe that every time when you failed and when you thought life as you know was over, you were able to laugh about it years, sometimes even weeks later?
So, critics might say what they want. But you should do what YOU want.
